Divine Desserts

I can't say how many times I've found stones to be so mouth-watering, that I've wished they were actually edible! Maybe it's just a sweet tooth thing, but truly, the bejeweled morsels served in “Divine Desserts” are simply salivating sensations.

My mom and my mother-in-law, besides being wonderful, loving, and inspiring women, were terrific bakers. Cobblers, pies, cakes—you name it, were always (briefly) on the table. Those delectable dessert recipes have been handed down and passed around, and although I'm not the one usually preparing them in the kitchen, my fingers are kept busy formulating the tempting necklaces, bracelets, and earrings found in “Divine Desserts.” In this line, you'll find designs with a more formal flavor-- perfect for black tie events. With names like “Raspberry Sorbet,” “Key Lime Pie,” “Cherries Jubilee,” and “Creme Brulee,” precious and semi-precious gems such as ruby, sapphire, topaz, peridot, citrine, sugilite, and charoite, are blended into the mix with sterling chains, beads, Silver Art Clay, and sometimes the sprinkle of 22 and 24 karat gold paint, toasted for a little extra richness. For a more casual outing, you can order up a “Root Beer Float,” with it's icy scoops of quartz and warm infusion of amber. Or, if you're a chocoholic, like me, a “Chocolate Malt,” brimming with light and dark chunks of agates and feldspar, might be the treat of choice.

Whatever your dessert preference, all of the ones found here are non-caloric, so no matter how many servings you indulge in, you'll always look delicious. And remember, the most important ingredients after all, are the ones carried within us—the embellishments are only the “icing on the cake!”
