Persimmon sunsets, blanched desert sands, and turquoise skies are just some of the vibrant images that would characterize my growing up in West Texas. “Laramie Lady” symbolizes that western-flavored bling and bravado that's always resonated with my sense of style. Actually, to satisfy my initial craving for something substantive in turquoise, I commissioned someone to create a piece for me. And although the end product was true to my vision, I realized I wanted to be totally involved in the process itself, and set out to put a brand on my own look.
So, with some hefty nuggets and thick silver wire, the gateway necklace for my business evolved, and I was hooked. My thirst, however, immediately expanded beyond the traditional looks associated with the West, and took me out of the “corral” of common concepts, into new arenas of thought. I still love turquoise, and it is the backbone of this collection, but in innovative interpretations, and with a flair of sophistication. “Laramie Lady” offers gutsy lassos of wire-wrapped slabs, geodes, and fossils, mixed with bone, horn, amber, and carnelian. Opals—whether honey, boulder, or Peruvian blues, are other favorites. Look for knotted metallic leather cords, large-looped sterling chains, fetishes, and harnesses of Silver Art Clay.
“Laramie Lady” is not for the timid or tame. Brazenly bold in statement, it's just like the spirited women who helped settle the West. And it's equally definitive of today's pioneer. You've got the reins...so, “cowgirl up,” y'all!
